Airmid Natural Irish Handmade Skincare, whose design is inspired by the rare and mystical landscape of the Burren is handmade in Kilfenora, Co. Clare on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Coast, located in The Burren & Cliffs of Moher, UNESCO Global Geopark.
This island marks our clothes and loomed wool, our clay and turned wood, our long walks and catwalks. This island is our point of view. It shapes our notions, our humor, our choices. We draw ideas from around us - from the landscape, the weather, the people. This is how our craft comes to life. This is Design Ireland.
Showcase 2019 - THE EDIT - HOME & GIFT
We are delighted to have been chosen again for THE EDIT at Ireland's Showcase Ireland 2019 - Trade Fair in Dublin.
Ireland’s Home & Gift brands place an emphasis on craft and heritage, authenticity and origin at Showcase 2019.
Emerging brands and established businesses present products that are designed to appeal to a wide variety of consumer - from the tourist seeking a souvenir to the collector seeking a special piece to treasure forever. Method and materials matter in the manufacture of handmade candles and art prints, home textiles and ceramics. Glass and linen, seaweed and beeswax, copper and brass are employed to beautiful effect. Reflecting a global trend, many of the brands at Showcase place an emphasis on sustainability at the heart of their products through local production. Respect for the environment can be seen in the use of wind fallen wood, biodegradable packaging, natural plant dyes or essential oils.

Who we are:
Airmid was the Irish Celtic Goddess of Herbs and Healing to the Tuatha De Danann, Ireland's magical ancient tribe.
Airmid is a family business based in Kilfenora in the Burren & Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark with all products handmade by Kevin Lynch. Kevin has suffered from severe eczema since birth and after their second son was born with eczema in 2009 they began looking for an alternative to commercial chemical products and began making chamomile soap which is gentle enough even for the most sensitive skin.
Kevin is an organic horticulturist and they already had a garden full of medicinal herbs grown by organic methods, and so they were soon hooked. Handmade soap is wonderful for your skin, because it contains the natural glycerin which occurs in the soap making process and leaves your skin silky smooth. Airmid only make by the traditional cold process method with minimal heat applied, keeping all the goodness of the ingredients in the final product. Airmid produce bar soaps, shaving soap and shampoo bars by traditional cold process methods. All bars are cut by hand and are cured for at least 6 weeks before sale to ensure a hard, high quality luxury product.
Airmid were chosen to represent Local Enterprise Clare at The Ploughing Championships 2018. As part of its National Programme the Local Enterprise Offices hosted a Local Enterprise Village at the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore, Co Offaly from Sept 18th – 20th 2018.
